The two who had been known to be industry friends for years fell out with each other about two to three years ago.
The rivalry became so heated that no day passed without fans of the two Ghanaian musicians going at each other on social media. It was such that every move each of the artists made was used as a yard stick of comparison with the other.
During Sarkodie’s birthday last month however, it was a huge surprise when Shatta Wale called into a Hitz Fm show whiles the rapper was on air doing an interview with Show host Andy Dosty. The dancehall act called in to wish Sarkodie a happy birthday and made it known that they had settled their misunderstanding some while back on the blind side of the fans who did not seem to want to let go, but just enjoy the “Agenda” of banter.
Sarkodie’s virtual event was powered by CEEK, a global virtual reality event organiser and host, owned by Ghanaian-American serial entrepreneur, Mary Spio. The platform has hosted events for other renowned global acts like Bon Jovi, DL Hughley, Ziggy Marley, Demi Lovato, Take That, Lady Gaga among others.
The show also had many other Ghanaian acts including Stonebwoy who was also billed to perform, but had to be taken out at the last minute.
Stonebwoy days earlier had been involved in a thunderous ruckus with Sarkodie’s manager Angeltown. There had been conflicting reports as to what the cause of the face-off was, but it turned out that the musician ended up hurting the artist manager in the eye and he had to be taken to seek urgent medical attention.
This encounter led Sarkodie’s team to unfortunately take out Stonebwoy from the list of artists to perform on the night.
