Tinubu Will Perform Better Than Buhari as President – Tanko Yakassai

An ex aide to a former President Shehu Shagari, Tanko Yakassai, has said that former Lagos state Governor and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will do better as President on comparison with current holder of the office, Muhammadu Buhari.

Yakassai, who was a liaison officer to former President Shehu Shagari, stated his firm belief of the fact that if given the opportunity, Tinubu would perform better than Buhari.

He cited the fact that the efforts of the APC National Leader transformed Lagos State despite being starved of resources by the Federal Government when he was governor. For him, this is one of the many indications that he is a competent leader.

Speaking in an interview in Kano, Yakassai said Tinubu was better at planning than Buhari and stressed that planning is what makes a better leader.

According to the Yakassai: “If you are talking of making a better president, to be honest with you, I think if Tinubu can get the APC ticket and is elected, he will perform better than Buhari. I do not doubt in my mind.

He implored people to go to Lagos and see what Tinubu has helped the state achieve. “When I went for an occasion, I took my time on the day of my arrival to go and have a look at Lekki,” he said.

In my opinion, Tinubu can make a better president than Buhari.

“What makes a better political leader in government is the plan. If you have a plan, you can do it; without a plan, you cannot perform.”

There have been rumours that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is nursing presidential ambitions after the term of current President Buhari ends in 2023. There is however yet to be confirmation or rebuttal of the said rumours from the ex Governor’s outfit – the Asiwaju’s next move remains a puzzle.
