MultiChoice group CEO of general entertainment and connected video, Yolisa Phahle, In a statement on Friday, explained that the concept of the new TV show was gotten from the popularity of Big Brother Naija in many countries.
“Big Brother Naija has a huge diaspora audience who followed Laycon’s journey while he was in the house. With the launch of his own reality show, it was important for us to make this content available to fans in as many countries as possible.”
The new reality TV show will be aired in countries like including Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Andorra, Australia, Finland, Greece, Iceland, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, France, Germany, United Kingdom, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
The 10-episodes show will feature the day to day life of the 2020 Big Brother Naija winner, Laycon, his stride into fame after the reality show, his personal relationships and his journey into the music industry.
Laycon’s new show will feature characters like Lilo Aderogba and Victoria ‘Vee’ Adeyele, also a former housemates at the Big Brother Naija house.
The first five episodes of “I am Laycon” will be aired on the streaming platform on February 11, while the remaining episodes will be available on the platform from March 4.
As the star of the new show, Laycon said that he is really excited to be in the show. He revealed the importance of family and friends to him and said he can’t wait to explore the different sides of him with his fans in the course of the show.
Laycon said: “Music, family and friendship are extremely important to me and I am excited that my fans around the world can join me as I explore these different sides of me on I Am Laycon.”
