The Former President of the Republic of Ghana, Mr. John Agyekum Kuffour is currently undergoing isolation with his wife, Mrs. Theresa Kuffour, due to COVID-19 fears. This is according to reports coming out of Accra based radio station, Starr FM.
According to the station, Mr. Kuffour and wife were taken out of their residence after some of their security gaurds tested positive for the novel corona virus.
Their isolation location has however not been disclosed.
This news is coming only hours after the sitting President, Nana Akufo-Addo went into isolation as a result of the positive diagnosis of some people in his close circles.
The official statement released by the Ministry of Information to this effect said that the President made the voluntary choice to self-isolate based on advise from his physicians.
“On the advise of doctors, the President of the Republic of Ghana, is from today, July 4, 2020, taking a 14-day precautionary self-isolation measure in compliance with Covid-19 protocols,” the statement read.
