Nigeria: Former Abia State Governor, Orji Uzor Kalu has said that he has the capacity to convince the self-assigned leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu to return to Nigeria and put an end to the agitation for the secessionist state of Biafra.
This was in a statement made available to the press in Abuja on Tuesday from Kalu’s office. In the statement, he said that Kanu would listen to him should he approach to convince him to join the “One Nigeria” agenda.
“If the Federal Government permits me, I will go to the United Kingdom and negotiate with Nnamdi Kanu to return to Nigeria.”
“I will convince him to drop the agitation for Biafra because our people don’t need it,” Kalu’s statement said.
The Senate Chief Whip maintained that he is a believer in ‘One Nigeria’, adding that people of Nigeria are entangled with each other. He stated that Nigerians need to focus on is taking advantage of the country’s population to build a stronger economy.
Orji Uzor Kalu has been seen crisscrossing the country over the last couple of weeks in what is believed to be a pre-preparation for a campaign for the Presidency come 2023.
