Ghana: 97 Persons Arrested For Not Wearing Nose Masks [Video]

97 persons, comprising 60 males and 37 females, have been arrested by the Accra Regional Police Command in an operation to ensure the wearing of nose masks as was directed by the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, in his 22nd address on measures taken to mitigate the spread of Covid-19.

The operation was carried out in a four-hour operation around Tudu, CMB, Farisco, Railways and its environs in Accra.

Following the surge in positive cases of the new COVID-19 variant across the country, president Akufo-Addo in his 22nd address to the nation on Sunday, January 17 urged Ghanaians to observe the laid down protocols in order to contain and control the spread of the deadly virus by always wearing nose masks.

The president further noted that persons who do not comply with these directives would be made to face the law. He further instructed the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to ensure that Ghanaians strictly comply with the nose mask-wearing law.
