Emmanuel Adebayor Wants to Play for Asante Kotoko

Former Togolese international, Emmanuel Adebayor, has said that he would love to have a career history in the Ghana Premier League, particularly with Asante Kotoko.

The former player for Arsenal, Real Madrid and other top-notch European football clubs, resides in Ghana quite often as he has a number of properties in the country says that asides relishing a playing career with Kotoko, he is also open to serving in management or on the board.

Adebayor is currently available on a free transfer after terminating his contract with Paraguayan side Olimpia in July 2020 on mutual due to the complications of the coronavirus pandemic.

The 36-year-old was seen at the official media briefing of Kumasi side, Kotoko, as they signed partnership deal with Hisense Electronics on Saturday the 14th of November 2020.

Journalists there present asked him he would sometime consider playing for the Porcupine Warriors before hanging up his boots, and he [Adebayor] answered in the affirmative.

”In life when I was young I never thought I will play for Real Madrid in my whole entire life. I never thought I would even be once on the TV in my life but at the end of the day, I have been there,” Adebayor started in his response.

”Playing for Kotoko is a team and I already have one friend there now. I have family, I know the CEO so I will never say never.

”I may decide to retire in Ghana or I may decide to be part of the board.”

Aside Real Madrid and Arsenal, Adebayor also played for some high profile clubs like Crystal Palace, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.

He also had a stints in Turkey with Istanbul Basaksehir and Kayserispor.
