Chukwueze Samuel is being tipped by Napoli as an alternative to Sassuolo Jeremie Boga as they head into the market to poach the Villarreal winger.
The Partenopei have been quite active in the market in the early parts of this 2020/2021 transfer window, seeing them make some few signings like Chukwueze’s Super Eagles’ team-mate, Victor Osimhen for € 70 million from Lille in the French Ligue 1.
The Serie A club are now actively searching for a replacement to Jose Callejon, whose contract is set to expire at the end of August. Seeing that it is only a few weeks to this contract expiry date, the club has been shopping feverishly in the market.
Napoli has however shown indications that their first choice is Boga, but they intend to move for Chukwueze an an alternative.
“Napoli have not hidden their desire to sign Boga, who is being coveted by several Serie A teams.
“Atalanta has overtaken Napoli in the race to sign Boga, valued at €30m, but the Partenopei believe they can get Chukwueze for €25m if they don’t get Boga,” the report read in part.
Chukwueze Samuel, 21, has netted four goals and provided six goal assists in 41 appearances for his Villareal side in the just ended LaLiga 2019/2020 season.
