BREAKING: Jerry Rawlings, Ex President of Ghana Passes On!

Jerry John Rawlings affectionately known as J.J. Rawlings, has passed on suddenly.

He is reported to have died in the early hours of Thursday, November 12, 2020. This was sudden as he was not known to have had any form of illness.

This news was confirmed to media houses by sources close to the family of the former President.

Jerry John Rawlings had only buried his mother Madam Victoria Agbotui a couple of weeks ago in October 2020.

The ex President’s mother Madam Agbotui died at the age of 101.

Jerry Rawlings was 73 at the time of his passing.

Jerry John Rawlings was born June 22, 1947, and he ruled the gold-rich West African nation of Ghana from 1981 to 2001, after he had been leader of the nation for a brief period earlier in 1979.

He led a military junta until 1992, and then served two terms as the democratically elected President of Ghana from 1993 to 2001 when he handed over to the opposition party candidate who won in the December 2000 elections.
