Asamoah Gyan Joins Legon Cities for 6 Million Cedis

Former Black Stars of Ghana Player, Asamoah Gyan, over the weekend signed for Ghanaian Premier League side Legon Cities FC in a deal worth about 6 million Ghana Cedis.

Gyan had been previously linked with Kumasi side, Asante Kotoko for some months now, but the Royals presented the most attractive offer, according to sources.

It is reported that the deal would see Gyan earn over “$1 million dollars (6 Million Cedis) in cash and packages.”

The details of the deal was made known by the player’s agent, Sammy Anim Addo who was speaking to Joy Sports exclusively on the Transfer Countdown show.

The former Udinese and Sunderland striker is making a return to the Ghana Premier League where he started his career some 17 years ago.

Asamoah Gyan played for Liberty Professionals when he started off as a footballer in the Ghanaian league. He scored 10 goals in 16 appearances for the side, and this was his only spell in the league before he moved to Europe.

He is expected to join the first team of Legon Cities for training next week ahead of the start of the new season on November 13.
