Hello fellow foodies, we’ll be learning how to make groundnut soup today.
Groundnut soup is commonly eaten in the West African nations of Ghana, Togo, Ivory Coast and Nigeria. It is also eaten in some Central African Nations like Gabon.
As usual, I took to my favourite food vlogger, Perpetual Asiamah‘s YouTube channel to learn an easy way to make this dish. I already know how to make groundnut soup, but Perpetual had a way to present it easier than I usually make mine, thus I thought to let you my audience know about it.
Below are the ingredients used in making groundnut soup;
For the Soup, you will need:
2 cups of Groundnut paste
3 tablespoon of tomato paste
2-3 cups of water
About 1-2 kg of a combination of tripe, cow intestines and organ meat (yemuade, etc)
1 pound of cow foot (cook for a few hours with about 3-4 cups of water, 1 large chopped onions, and salt to taste)
1 large piece of 2 smaller pieces of adwene (smoked, dried fish)
1 large smoked mackerel (salmon)
2-3 meduim tomatoes
3-4 pieces of scotch bonnet or harbenero peppers ( or to taste and some to garnish )
1/2 cup of ginger
3-4 cloves of garlic salt to taste
Now it time to watch the cooking tutorial below. It is pretty much straight forward and I believe that anyone who watches the video should be able to try it out easy.
