The managing director of the First City Monument Bank (FCMB), Adam Nuru has reportedly gone on leave as the investigation of an alleged affair he had with a former worker of the bank, who was married, is currently in place.
Reports have revealed that a council is currently investigating the allegation against Adam Nuru. The managing director was accused of having an affair with Moyo Thomas, who was a former worker at the Bank, and was also revealed to be married.
According to reports, Moyo was married to Tunde Thomas, who was also a worker at the bank. It was revealed that Moyo told Tunde that their children do not belong to him, but were actually Nuru’s children. Tunde eventually died of of a cardiac arrest on December 16, 2020, after his wife left him for the United States.
Over a thousand people signed a petition to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), demanding that Adam Nuru be relieved of his post.
They claimed that Adam Nuru was accountable for the death of Tunde Thomas. They also revealed that Tunde suffered a stroke but eventually recovered and met another woman he was planning to marry, but he never recovered from the heartbreak he got from his first marriage and later died two days to the introduction of his pregnant girlfriend.
“This is a case of gross misconduct based on ethical grounds and unjustifiable economic oppression by the elites (Adam Nuru) against the less privileged in the society.”
“The MD has been doing everything possible to sweep this case under the carpet. We implore the Central Bank of Nigeria as the apex regulator and the board of FCMB to investigate this for the integrity of the bank and Nigerian banking industry.”
“This is a case too many, while I agree that this is not the full story, the barest minimum will be an investigation of this unethical conduct by the current MD of FCMB Bank Adam Nuru.”
