Acting NDDC MD Faints at Senate Hearing

The acting Managing Director (MD) of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) fainted during a hearing at the Nigerian Senate this morning.

Mr. Daniel Pondei, the acting MD for the NDDC was being grilled by the senators for alleged misappropriation of funds of the organisation. 45 minutes into the grilling session, Mr. Pondei suddenly collapsed.

He had to be rushed out of the conference Room 231 where the hearing was taking place in order to receive medical attention.

Senator Godswill Akpabio, the current minister for Niger Delta affairs was left behind to carry on answering questions by the senators who are leading the probe into the NDDC’s affairs.
